About this study day

This study day is open to any nurse working in an environment that cares for patients following traumatic injury. Attendees may work in the ED, on a trauma ward or in a rehabilitation setting. The aim of the day is for attendees to improve their knowledge and skills around the complications patients experience on discharge following traumatic injury and to increase their awareness of the support available in communities.

The sessions will consist of presentation, discussion, case studies and practical sessions, and will cover:

  • Neuroplasticity and rehabilitation
  • Red Cross home from hospital service
  • Support available from Headway
  • Problems/complications faced by patient’s on discharge from hospital
  • An opportunity to share best practice and case studies.
