About this study day

This study day will introduce attendees to the expected symptoms a patient may experience when receiving chemotherapy. Presentations will be given on how to manage these symptoms before addressing some of the more complex situations and patient care required. The latest research guidance will be given, along with the debate of issues that are not clear cut in practice.

The programme of study is particularly useful to nurses who are just beginning their career in cancer or work in a speciality area where cytotoxic agents are used.

All staff are made to feel very welcome.

Please note that guidance is offered in respect of the achievement of competency in this area but this is not assessed during the study day. Employers are requested to be aware that assessment of practice is within the clinical domain and responsibility of the employer.

N.B These study days can be used within a work based module to achieve credits.
