About this study day
This study day is designed for practitioners who want to improve their understanding and knowledge in providing person centred care for older persons.
The study day will cover a wide range of issues related to caring for older persons, for
example:
- Current Government initiatives, (the national service framework NSF)
- The effects of the bio-psycho-social ageing
- Assessment skills
- Confusion/Dementia,
- Falls prevention
- Nutrition and malnourishment
- Abuse of older people
- Diabetes and Older People
- Promoting continence and managing incontinence
The study day aims to highlight issues from participants own experience and work through situations. The day will consist of presentation, discussion and case scenario working.
