50 per cent of the course is spent at the University and the other 50 per cent of the course is spent on practice placement at one of our local NHS Trusts or Independent Care partners in the West London area. The Faculty of Society & Health prides itself on the close links established with the clinical areas in its surrounding NHS Trusts, both hospital and community-based. Ealing Hospital is a small but busy district general hospital providing acute services for patients in the West London area. The hospital provides a range of medical, surgical, maternity and child health services and serves an ethnically diverse community.
Ealing Hospital provides excellent training and development opportunities for all staff members. It also offers students weekly teaching sessions 1-2 hours a week on various topics.
Their main commissioner of services is the Ealing Primary Care Trust, accounting for around 95 per cent of patients.
Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust – Uxbridge

Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust provides health services from two sites in West London. The first, Hillingdon Hospital, is situated just south of Uxbridge town centre and in close proximity to Heathrow Airport. It is the only acute Hospital in the London borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide variety of services including a busy Accident and Emergency department, inpatients, day surgery, and outpatient clinics.
The Trust also provides services at the Mount Vernon Hospital, in co-operation with the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
