We work with Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to provide placements for Children’s nursing only. Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a major provider of community and hospital services in South Central England, providing care to over half a million patients from Buckinghamshire and neighbouring counties every year.

They are responsible for the majority of NHS care in the county, from community health services provided in people’s homes or from one of their many local bases, to acute hospital services at Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and Amersham.

Their ambition is to provide comprehensive networks of care aimed at giving patients the right treatment and support, in the right place, at the right time. Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest Trusts in London offering a wide range of health and social care services across 10 boroughs. The Trust has over 5,000 employees, providing more than 300 services from over 150 sites.

CNWL specialise in caring for people with mental health problems, addictions and learning disabilities, as well as providing community health services to residents in Hillingdon and Camden and primary care services in a number of prisons.

They aim to work in partnership with local people to improve their health and wellbeing. Together they look at ways of improving an individual’s quality of life, through high quality health care and personal support.

We work with Ealing Hospital NHS Trust to provide placements for Children’s and Adult nursing. Ealing Hospital is a small but busy district general hospital providing acute services for patients in the West London area. The hospital provides a range of medical, surgical, maternity and child health services and serves an ethnically diverse community.

Ealing Hospital provides excellent training and development opportunities for all staff members. It also offers students weekly teaching sessions 1-2 hours a week on various topics.

Their main commissioner of services is the Ealing Primary Care Trust, accounting for around 95 per cent of patients.

We work with Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to provide placements for Children’s and Adult nursing. Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a large and diverse population of more than 450,000 which includes Ascot, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Slough, south Buckinghamshire and Windsor.

On the whole, the general health of people in the area is better than the England average. Priorities for the region include; childhood obesity, cardiovascular disease, early detection of dementia and falls prevention, early diagnosis of cancers including prostate, skin and colorectal and prevention and early detection of long-term conditions, heart disease and stroke.

They were recently awarded with a CHKS (Comparative Health Knowledge System) Top 40 Hospitals award covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

The Trust has approximately 3,200 staff, and they provide acute services that include cardiology, maternity, stroke and emergency from two main sites in Wexham Park (Slough) and Heatherwood (Ascot).

The first, Hillingdon Hospital, is situated just south of Uxbridge town centre and in close proximity to Heathrow Airport. It is the only acute Hospital in the London borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide variety of services including a busy Accident and Emergency department, inpatients, day surgery, and outpatient clinics.

The Trust also provides services at the Mount Vernon Hospital, in co-operation with the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

We work with Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to provide placements for children’s nursing. Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a medium size hospital serving the people living in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

The hospital has approximately 500 inpatient beds and provides a broad range of general medical and surgical services, including A&E, for over 300,000 people every year. They continue to develop their facilities to meet the needs of a growing population.

The hospital provides services for all medical, surgical and child health emergency admissions.

In addition to providing general acute services Milton Keynes Hospital increasingly provides more specialist services, including cancer, cardiology and oral surgery and has the responsibility for treating premature babies born locally and in the surrounding areas. Some of the babies we treat are born as early as 24 weeks old (16 weeks early) and weighing as little as 500 grams.
